Corn Not on the Cob

I grew up in the Midwest, so corn on the cob was the centerpiece of many if not most summer meals.  And while I still love it, I find it's the flavor I love... the mess... not so much...

Simple solution: cut the corn off the cob, and gently heat it in some butter with salt and pepper.  Fresh corn really needs no cooking... so just heat it up.  And of course, if plain is too... plain... add whatever gets you going... hot sauce, lime juice, fresh herbs, smoked paprika, smoked salt...
