But I Can't Just Waste It! (Crumbs 'n' Croutons from Baguettes)

We eat a lot of baguettes.

But there's always a portion that gets lost on the counter and starts to dry out (or, if it's a really hot, muggy week in summer... mold... eeuww...).  I have some simple ways NOT to waste the over-the-hill bread...

Freeze the leftover bread whole, or cut it into croutons and freeze, OR process it into fine crumbs and freeze.  No more salty, processed store-bought croutons or crumbs.  And if you happen to have a lot of them in your freezer come November... no more bagged stuffing either!  They can be used as is, or thawed and sautéed in a little EVOO... depending on their intended use.
