Though it's hard to admit it, I think it's time. Yes... there is still lettuce growing. But many of the plants seem to be saying "Are you KIDDING ME?? It's JULY!"

So I think I'm about to pull up what's left... harvest what looks good... add the rest to the compost pile... add some compost to the bed... plant a few beans and peas, etc. And when August is winding down, plant the Fall lettuce bed.
This has been a great experiment... and after all is said and done, we will have gotten 12-15 WEEKS of daily salads out of about $3 worth of seeds... and the remaining $3 will get planted in the Fall. And you've seen the pictures... I don't mean salads consisting of 3-4 leaves... I mean dinner plate-sized salads. À tout à l'heure, lettuce bed... I'll see you soon!
