The BLT. Or on this occasion, the BBLT: Baguette, Bacon, Lettuce & Tomato!
I have had a tomato-deprived summer... So while I'm back in Yonkers, and the tomato plants are still producing... I'm having a total tomato orgy before I head back to Cleveland.
Tonight was BBLT Night... I had ripe, juicy Brandywines, Green Zebras, and Kiesels (Czech beauties from my dear friend Marcia)... some beautiful thick-cut bacon... and a wonderful baguette...
I baked the bacon on a rack in a 350° oven for 15-20 minutes, sliced some tomatoes, sliced and slathered the baguette with mayo, washed some iceberg...
YES... iceberg! When it's called for, I use it proudly...
Combined it all with a tiny bit of smoked sea salt...
OMG... I'm a very happy man!
