I mentioned a while ago that we have all of my mother's recipes together in a cookbook. And I can't tell you how much it means to me to have those flavors from my childhood at my fingertips. And to be reminded where my love of cooking came from...
It's even easier to "make a cookbook" now since so many people have scanners and printers in their homes. If you don't want to spend the time typing out each recipe on the computer, just organize the recipes according to categories (appetizers, chicken dishes, beef, desserts, etc.), then scan them and print. You youngsters out there can, of course, download them to your tablets. However you choose to do it, believe me, you'll be glad you have them.

My mother's no longer here, but whenever I make her legendary Snowballs and Melting Moments at Christmas, it feels as though she is. (And yes, Connie and Harriet, in December I promise to post the recipes.)
