Welcome to This Old Chef!

I've come to the food world in a very roundabout way...

I'm an actor, a playwright...

A cooking teacher, a food writer, a recipe developer...

A teacher of acting, voice, and Shakespeare…

Not to mention a cookbook fanatic with a collection numbering in the hundreds (no, really)…

I love to cook, and I love to entertain.

Whether I’m acting with the Royal Shakespeare Company, or teaching cooking classes in Bronxville, NY… developing recipes for national food magazines and cookbooks… or entertaining friends with Indian feasts and 12-course Christmas dinners at home…

I’m always thinking about food.

I've developed recipes for Food&Wine, MyRecipes, Extra Crispy, Everyday with Rachael Ray, and written a column in Great American Home Cooking...

My adaptation of Dickens' A Christmas Carol has had over 20 productions from Virginia to Oregon...

And I’ve managed a coffee shop.

I’ve worked as a private chef with my cooking partner - screenwriter Deb Stenard - in L.A., and spent much of the '80s as a cater-waiter in NYC.

I warned you the path was roundabout!

But...

I always come back to food.

I hope you do, too.
