Da Bronx

Living in Westchester County, I've got pretty much the best of both worlds. The Hudson Valley and the City are both easily accessable. For example... The Bronx is about a 10-minute drive.

Now I know this is going to sound like a paid advertisement... believe me, it's not!  Just got back from one of the great stores in the whole country - Teitel Brothers on legendary Arthur Avenue in The Bronx.  www.TeitelBros.com

If you cook Italian, Mediterranean, or just plain good food, this store has everything you want or need.

And if perchance they DON'T have something - the rest of the Avenue will. I just bought one gallon of really really good olive oil (yes - I go through it that fast!), a pound and a half of perfect Parmigiano Reggiano, four pounds of Semolina (I'm on a pasta-making jag) and three gorgeous garlics.

This all came to approximately $46!  I'm just sayin'... cheeses, oils, salumi, olives, beans, pastas, sausages, etc.  The store may not be huge, but you'll never know it, and the guys could not be nicer or more helpful.
